The Bay to Birdwood is one of the world’s great historic motoring events and has been an iconic fixture on the South Australian events calendar since 1980.
Thousands of spectators line the 67 kilometre route to view the passing parade of historic motoring from West Beach through to the National Motor Museum, Birdwood in the Adelaide Hills. The crowd admiration for the antique, veteran, vintage, post-war/early-classic, classic, post-classic and modern classics is truly inspiring. Held annually, the Bay to Birdwood is a mass-participatory citizen-collector driven historic motoring event that draws participants from around Australia and the world to celebrate historic motoring.
In 2022, the event is planned for Sunday 16 October, any substantially unmodified vehicles manufactured prior to 1993 will be eligible to enter. Many entrants from the cancelled 2021 event have held over their entry for the 2022 event so the remaining and limited places in the 2022 event are expected to sell out quickly. If you intend to enter but have missed out on a place, please enter your details on the reserve list and if a space becomes available our event team will be in touch.
Period clothing is a feature of the Bay to Birdwood, with the vast majority of participants choosing to match the era of their vehicle with their attire. Many in the crowd join in the fun of dressing up too. It is never too early to start planning your attire for the day.
