Expression of Interest: Bay to Birdwood Judge

Thank you for your interest in registering as an official awards judge for the Bay to Birdwood.

These awards have been a feature of the Bay to Birdwood since its inception in 1980 and the prestigious Concours d’Elegance has been awarded to some of the finest vehicles in Australia.

The Preservation Award was introduced in 2016 in response to growing interest in this area and has quickly established itself as one of the most popular aspects of the Bay to Birdwood.

In a world-first, and in alignment with a shift within historic vehicle circles, the Bay to Birdwood welcomed electric converted historic vehicles in 2022 and will do so again in 2023, recognised by the EV Conversion Award.

All vehicles entered into an award will be judged at a separate pre-judging event in the morning of Saturday 21 October 2023 in the Courtyard Precinct of the Migration Museum, State Library of South Australia, and South Australian Museum.

Completion of the Bay to Birdwood on Sunday 22 October 2023 is still the essential criterion and winners are only confirmed and presented with their trophies at the conclusion of the event. Please be sure you can attend both days before registering your interest.

As a judge, you will work in small teams (of three or four) to assess entrants. Each judge produces their own judging sheet for every vehicle they assess. Judges must be objective and impartial; if you come across a vehicle or owner that is known to you, you will be required to declare an interest and may be asked not to judge that vehicle.
