Thank you for your interest in becoming a judge of the Bay to Birdwood Awards.
These have been a feature of the Bay to Birdwood since its inception in 1980, and the prestigious Concours d’Elegance has been won by some of the finest vehicles in Australia.
The Preservation Award was introduced in 2016, in response to growing interest in this area, and has quickly established itself as one of the most popular aspects of the Bay to Birdwood.
Since 2020, the Bay to Birdwood Awards are judged at a separate event taking place at Torrens Parade Ground in Adelaide on the day prior to the rally. Completion of the Bay to Birdwood rally on the Sunday is still an essential criterion for the awards, so winners are only confirmed and presented with their trophies at the conclusion of the event.
As a judge, you will work in small teams (of 3 or 4) to assess entrants. Each judge produces their own judging sheet for every vehicle they assess. Judges must be objective and impartial; if you come across a vehicle or owner that is known to you, you will be required to declare an interest and may be asked not to judge that vehicle.
