In 2022 we will be bringing back the Alternative Start from Modbury. This also is a designated rest stop for participants with catering and toilets available. This presents a great spot to give vehicles and drivers a rest before they embark on the climb to the Finish Festival at Birdwood.
UPDATE TO ALTERNATIVE START LOCATION:
As a result of significant rainfall over the past several weeks, the City of Tea Tree Gully has advised that Civic Park, Modbury – the Bay to Birdwood Alternative Start site – will not be suitable for vehicle access during Sunday’s Bay to Birdwood. As a result, the Alternative Start site will be moved to the City of Tea Tree Gully’s Library and Council Chambers carpark (Civic Centre), immediately adjacent to Civic Park.
Access to the Alternative Start site will be via Montague Road, as previously planned. Exit from the site will occur via an exit driveway directly on to North East Road. The site will be staffed by traffic and Bay to Birdwood event marshals – please follow all instructions issued to you on the day. There will be lane restrictions active on North East Road from 8:00am to assist in a quick and convenient egress for entrants from the Alternative Start site.
Catering and bathroom facilities will be available as planned.
Entrants please fill in the below form to register your interest in starting at Civic Centre rather than Barratt Reserve as places are limited.
